Candlemas, Thursday, February 2, 2023. Fr. Nursey will bless all of your candles before Mass, along with the candles for the year for both St. Stephen and St. Theresa. Drop off your candles sometime between January 28 and February 2, in a box or bag clearly marked with your name. Please pick them up by noon on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Movie Night with Fr. Nursey, Join Fr. Nursey Saturday, February 11, after 4:00 p.m. Mass for popcorn and watch the classic black and white movie “The Song of Bernadette”, about the teenager who saw Our Lady of Lourdes. There will be a 15 minute intermission, part way through this three hour movie.

St. Stephen Valentine’s Brunch: Sunday, February 12, 2023 after 11:00 a.m. Mass. Menu: Hash browns, ham, sausage, eggs, pancakes, orange juice, coffee, desserts. The Council of Catholic Women will graciously accept donations for preparing this delicious brunch.

Saints and Snacks, Catechism with Fr. Nursey: Tuesdays, after 5:30 p.m. Mass at St. Stephen. Join Fr. Nursey for an informal evening learning more about our Catholic faith. Fr. Nursey opens with a 30 minute presentation. Bringing a snack to share is optional. Never been to a class? It doesn’t matter. Each session is unique. Can’t come every week? Come once or come as many times as you can. Don’t want to talk in front of other people? Listen and you will learn a lot. Here is your chance to ask all the random questions about your faith. No fees. No obligation. Class is canceled on February 15.

St. John Chalice Prayer for Vocations Challenge: Sign up: Choose a date and Mass you’ll be attending, so the Priest can bless you and the chalice before you go; Find a Spot: Place the chalice in a prominent spot where you family can gather for the daily vocation prayer; Pray Daily: Use the suggested daily prayers that come with the chalice, add a Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, or say your own prayer; Pass it on: Return the chalice to the parish bulletin board, so the next family may take it. Do more than just wish for vocations. Pray for them.
